We’re happily sailing the beautiful catamaran Lagoon 400, 2012 with a name of Mana
Kai which means “the Soul of the Ocean”.
Mana Kai has everything onboard for taking long offshore passages and we feel secure
For making enough power it has 4 – 100W solar panels, a wind generator and diesel
generator. We can make our own fresh clean water out of salt ocean water with ecotech
40gal/h AC watermaker. With tank capacity of 160 gallons we have enough of it to drink
and wash (even the Cat itself) We use sails to travel and only we need on our way to
the next destination is fair wind, calm ocean and only little diesel when departing and
arriving. It’s a pretty economy way of traveling while living aboard and staying anchored
in the most beautiful places on Earth!
As beautiful outside our Mana Kai is comfortable inside. It’s 40 feet long but pretty
spacious. There are 3 staterooms with beds like queen size , 3 heads and showers and
plenty of storages. There is a bright galley upstairs with panoramic view. And there is a
large cockpit covered from the sun and rain. In addition in the front side we have a big
trampoline and space to sunbathing.
To get to the shore or to the beach we use dinghy, a small inflatable motored boat 10”
long with 15hp Yamaha outboard
