Diving the Armaggedon // Diving with Sharks

Armageddon is a deep, non-traditional wreck which we love exploring and come visiting from time to time!😍👌🏼

Please, come and check our Instagram @sunshinesailors_s and YouTube channel SailingManaKai for diving episodes and amazing photographs, you have to see it! 📸

The scenery on the site is epic!
Originally, this the remains of a large portion of the old Frederiksted Pier that was destroyed in 1989 by category 5 hurricane Hugo. Steel girders reach in all directions, slabs of concrete, portions of paved cement street surface, truck chassis, and more are piled into in enormous wreck at about 100 feet (30m) down.
After descending most likely you will be met by curious reef sharks that circle around pretty close.
Because of the deep depth colors on the site tends to be grayish that suits fine for surrounding environment. As you go farther to the field the small particles in the water makes effect of hovering flakes of ashes. Welcome to the Armaggedon like it is! And among all this destruction and devastation you will find tremendous variety of underwater vegetation, life corals and sponges, gorgeous Queen, French and Grey Angelfishes, Filetfishes, Parrotfished, Sea turtles, barracudas, lion fishes and many more. Huge lobster can be found here.
It’s better to use Nitrox (if you have Enriched air certification) to allow more no decompression time, go there and enjoy your dive!
